BSF smashes NC leader's nose Excelsior Special Correspondent
"SRINAGAR, Mar 2/00: ......The high-profile National Conference (NC) activist Sheikh Ghulam Ahmed Saloora was critically injured at Ganderbal, Kashmir by Border Security Forces (BSF)."
"Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah's Ganderbal turned into a trouble spot this afternoon when two armed BSF personnel roughed up the NC's rural district president Sheikh Ghulam Ahmed Saloora and left him critically injured with a fractured nose."
"...Two armed soldiers of BSF 182 Bn abused him, manhandled him and smashed his nose with the butts of their AK-47 rifles in full view of public...."
"Even as efforts to contact the BSF headquarters at Ganderbal yielded nothing, EXCELSIOR contacted Saloora late tonight on telephone. He confirmed the ugly episode but said that he had not registered a criminal case against BSF "in larger party and national interests." He said it was an irony that he had been attacked by BSF days after he had defended the security forces before a British delegation which quizzed him about Army's and BSF's human rights violations....."
Comments by Asif: It is evident that Occupied Kashmir's illegal & pro Indian Government officials are lying in front of foreign delegations about human rights violations committed by Indian brutal Occupying forces.
